Only the bare foot alone can be - barefoot and 100% breathable and waterproof. But good shoes can also give us a really great feeling. Just like an infinite number of women suffer from cold feet, and so I thought I would try it out. To wear as little shoe as possible on your feet, and if the toes have enough freedom and are more active, this is certainly an advantage. First of all, in working with my first toe shoes, which still wear me through the company colorful after 13 years. In the meantime I have countless couples on barefoot / minimum shoes and sandals, from 11 manufacturers who protect my miracle fuzel if it is not possible.

By chance looking for a sandal, which is also wearable for clothes, I came across the ZAQQ Cliq, an elegant minimal leather beauty that is absolutely pleasant to wear in summer. And then the Peaq Broque Cognac came as an extension if the barefoot look with long trousers should not be so striking. By the way, these are my favorite shoes when I walk extremely long in the city or on the asphalt, since the wide toe box always offers enough space for the toes if the foot swells like normal. The seasons pass and I now also wanted a shoe model for hikes and winter everyday life for autumn and winter. I was hiking in the Austrian mountains every weekend in the summer and for the most part barefoot or as minimal as possible. Winter is always my biggest problem, since the toes like to become icicles and thick socks and freedom of movement are important, the ZAQQ online shop was browsed again. So I stumbled across this model, because of the wide toe box, non -slip sole and this model is also waterproof.

No, not love on the first step - I didn't like it at the beginning. Too much sole - too high - too stiff - just a gray mouse. "The" does not fit and so he even landed 3 times in the shoe box for the return but he stayed. No idea why, but I slipped in again and again and then the first hike. It was constantly compared to other models and this couple didn't have it easy with me. We have grown together over the months and now I find this shoe really so brilliant.
Like all ZAQQ shoes, this model is also very comfortable at the beginning and you nestle on your feet over time. What bothered me at the beginning, the heel part of the sole, which is not so flexible, is now excellent, because the heel remains stable in position and the forefoot can screw in as in spiral dynamics, which ensures optimal stability. The outdoor sole has a huge grip, I tested everything that is slippery and unstable in nature, from wet moss on rock boulders, moist roots and forest passages, simple via ferratas in a light snowfall and via icy paths in winter mountain hikes.

Waterproof: Yes, the shoe that keeps tight when hiking trails are mushy, snowy, but I wasn't in the heaviest rainy weather yet, but in this case I also have a few waterproof socks with me. And because this shoe is so wide I was able to wear thick socks and/or warm deposits in winter and still had enough space so that the toes could move. When the temperatures went up to lunch, I inaugurated the season to go barefoot for a long time. After that I was too lazy to put on my socks and the ExpeQ so I left the socks away and just went barefoot in my shoes, not only was it surprisingly soft and pleasant, and I also discovered the best of these shoes for me.
When moving out, the inner lining came out because it is only sewn on the top of the edge. The inner lining is put on the outside and the shoe can therefore dry optimally whether at home or on the way. No, the inner lining stays in position when wearing the shoes and does not slip. For summer hikes, these shoes are a little too warm for me and how well the ZAQQ has the Expeq Mid in its range.

Conclusion: Yes, there are models from other manufacturers where the sole is thinner, more flexible, the shoes are easier in weight, but none of my other models are, as my girlfriend said when trying on, "feels like a glove". It was also overwhelmed by my soft beautiful Peaq Broque Cognac and the Expeq Wide, which weighs Gr. 39 - 652 g and the Quiq Trail Gr.38 - 396g

In summer I plan a three -week long hike along the Via Alpina in the Swiss mountains, and for this hike I have tested all the models I have. Despite a little more weight, I will wear the ZAQQ QUIQ Trail Blue in good weather, since they not only have the successful outdoor sole, but also have this strange inner lining at the beginning. But this too was very convincing in the practical test, because it offers some resistance and so the foot does not slip in the shoe at steep mountain passages. In rainy weather, the smaller brother Expeq will protect my feet because it is waterproof, non -slip and the inner lining in the sun can optimally dry. Further models will surely end up in my shoe shelf over time, because it is excellent.
