Care of HIQE Outdoor Barefoot Shoes
Our HIQE model is one of the best outdoor shoes in the barefoot world. No wonder, because maximum comfort, stylish design and high-quality materials make this model simply unbeatable.
Outdoor shoes are often exposed to high stress during active hiking. In addition, there is moisture from rain or wet surfaces as well as strong UV exposure. With the right care, your HIQE will accompany you for a long time and will look almost the same as it did on the first day, even after many tours.
Our HIQE barefoot shoes with mesh content
Most of our HIQE models are made from a combination of leather and mesh fabric or vegan material and mesh fabric. It is immediately obvious to everyone that leather needs to be cared for. But the other materials are at least as important in order to enjoy your barefoot shoes for a long time. With proper cleaning and care, you can avoid cracks or brittle areas.
Cleaning and care of the mesh fabric
Light contamination can be easily removed with a soft brush. But what do you do with stubborn stains that aren't easy to brush away?
Quite simply, use a special cleaner that not only makes your barefoot shoes sparkling clean, but also cares for the mesh fabric. We advise against using household cleaners or dishwashing liquids as these can make the material brittle.
To clean and care for the mesh fabric, we recommend the following product from Collonil:
- SYNCARE CLASSIC care foam -
If you use this care foam regularly, you will maintain the elasticity of the mesh fabric and prevent tears in the material.
It's quick and easy to use: shake the can, spray the foam onto a cloth, work it into the fabric and remove the stains at the same time. Then let the care product absorb and dry well. Complete!
Impregnation of the mesh fabric
Although our HIQEs are equipped with a waterproof inner membrane, you should still treat the outside of them so that they repel water. This protects the upper material so that your barefoot shoes can be put to intensive use on your next outdoor adventure.
With the impregnation, your HIQEs are not only protected from moisture penetration, they are also dirt-repellent. If your barefoot shoes are dirty, all you need to do is wipe them briefly to get them sparkling clean again.

Clean and care for leather areas properly
Most of our HIQE models are made from a mix of mesh fabric and leather. Depending on the model, it is either smooth nappa leather or velvety suede. You care for the leather separately according to these instructions:
We also have the following three models in the shop, which are made entirely of leather. Of course, the instructions for leather care also apply to these. Since these HIQEs do not have any mesh content, you save yourself the care instructions mentioned above.
